Serving predominately South Wales, but also Mid and West Wales, Cardiff Airport is in the village of Rhoose, approx. 12 miles from Cardiff city center. The Airport extends back to the early 1940s, when land in the rural Vale of Glamorgan was requisitioned by the Air Ministry to set up a wartime satellite Aerodrome and training base for Spitfire pilots, RAF Rhoose. After WW2 the airfield was abandoned.

More flights to Ireland and France followed; an increased demand meant a new terminal was a welcome addition.

The airport can be found to the West of Cardiff and 13 miles from junction 33 on the M4. Exit junction 33 on the M4 and follow the signs to Cardiff Airport along the A4232, A4050 and A4226.
Exit the M4 at junction 33 and follow the A4232, signposted Barry / Airport / Cardiff West. At the A48 junction roundabout, take the third exit which is signposted A4050 Barry / Cardiff Airport.
At the next five roundabouts, carry on following signs for A4050 Barry / Cardiff Airport. At the sixth roundabout take the second exit, still following signs for A4050 Barry / Cardiff Airport.
When you get to the seventh roundabout, take the second exit (A4226), and at the eighth adjacent to the petrol station, take the second exit signposted A4226. When you reach the ninth roundabout, take the first exit signposted Cardiff Airport.
The entrance to the car park is approximately 200 meters on the right hand side.

Looking for a budget friendly car park, look no further than Highwayman Parking, the only independent off-airport car park at Cardiff Airport. Their friendly drivers will be happy to help you with your luggage and free airport transfers run every 15 minutes and take 5-7 minutes from the car park to the front entrance of arrivals where they drop you off. Their minibuses are also fitted with a step to enable easier access. There are a few Long Stay options at Cardiff Airport. To start, we have Long Stay 1 surface car park, which is a 3-5 minute walk into the terminal. Long Stay 2 and Long Stay 3 are a little further out and you can use the free bus that runs every 10-15 minutes and will get you there in 3-5 minutes.
The closest car park to the airport is the Surface Short Stay Car Park, no need to walk far to get to the terminal as its just two minutes to check-in. While the customer is away, the car stays exactly where the customer left it in the secured car park.
Drop your car off at the dedicated Meet and Greet shelter, which will take digital images of the car, then pass through the final barrier. Meet the driver here and the customer goes to the Priority Reception, where the customer checks in the car and hand over the keys and walk to check-in in minutes. On the returning, the customer heads back to the Priority Reception, where the keys and car will be waiting. Simply drive to the automatic exit barrier with the booking confirmation and ticket and one of the team members will greet the customer before leaving, all that’s left to do is drive home.
Cardiff Airport Off-site parking cannot accept bookings for minibuses, high-sided vehicles, mobile homes, Lorries, caravans or trailers, even if multiple spaces are booked.
